Meade Mule Turns One and the Eagles are Super Bowl Champions

A year ago today, I launched MeadeMule.com. I couldn’t have asked for a better one year anniversary than to be celebrating the first Super Bowl victory in Philadelphia Eagles history.

What a difference a year makes. A year ago, no one could have imagined that the Eagles were this close to finally winning a Super Bowl. Heck, as recently as July I lamented about how 2017 (up to that point) was one of the worst periods in Philadelphia sports history. And now here we are less than a year later, celebrating one of the most unlikely Super Bowl championships in NFL history and quite possibly the greatest moment in Philadelphia sports history.

I’ll have more to say about the Super Bowl soon, but for now I just wanted to take a moment and reflect on a hell of a first year here at the Mule. As is clear from my very first post, I didn’t really know what direction I’d end up taking this site when I first began. It started out with me simply writing about things that interested me, which pretty quickly turned into a mostly whisky-related site. I talked a bit about my plans for the future in my 2018 resolutions article last month, so I won’t rehash that here, but it is clear that whisky will be my main focus for the foreseeable future here on the Mule. Whisky mostly… but I think I might be throwing in a little sports for a minute here too.

It’s a good day to be celebrating the Mule’s birthday. Fly Eagles Fly.
